The FINDING TRUE MAGIC Courses in Transpersonal Hypnotherapy/NLP© are stimulating and challenging. Hypnotherapy Certification
Recommended for students interested in making hypnotherapy their career: 300 hours of certification training. We suggest completing 150 hours of live onsite training and 150 hours of distance learning (independent study) to complete the 300 hours. Students may also complete the 300 hours of training entirely by distance learning (independent study) or entirely by onsite live training. Transpersonal Hypnotherapy/NLP© is a radical synthesis of Eastern and Western views and techniques applied to the art and discipline of transformative communication. It weaves together depth hypnosis, regression therapy, past-life therapy, inner child work, subpersonality and archetypal transformational processes, neuro-linguistic processing, Ericksonian hypnosis, quantum hypnosis, entity releasing, shadow work, comprehensive treatment planning, and more.
These trainings were originally designed to provide certification in the practice of Transpersonal Hypnotherapy/NLP©. 6 Phase Curriculum
Below is a partial list of topics covered in each phase of the course. The per-phase course option should be taken in sequence, as the material is not strictly compartmentalized from phase to phase. For example, NLP and Ericksonian principles and their correlation with transpersonal perspectives pervade the entire course. It is important to experience the flow and development that moves through the class from day to day.
What may look basic or elementary in this outline may not be elementary for you at all because of the integrated transpersonal perspectives brought to bear, based on the instructor's 35+ years of study and practice of Eastern meditative traditions. These new and unusual perspectives are what make the course suitable even for trained hypnotherapists who may look at the curriculum headings and think, "I've already learned that." Since 1988 many highly trained hypnotherapists, NLP practitioners and traditionally trained psychotherapists have been happily surprised at the new depth of understanding and competency they have achieved by taking this course.
NOTE: Two prices are listed below for each Phase:
1) NON-CERTIFICATION OPTION (noted as NCO) prices. Non-certification prices are for the study materials only -- no consultations with Jack Elias are included.

Our FINDING TRUE MAGIC© Certification Trainings have been approved on a case-by-case basis for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral level course credit at a number of universities. We will gladly assist you in creating a proposal for your school.
CEUs are also available for the on-site certification trainings and for the distance learning programs, both certified and non-certified options.
The Institute for Therapeutic Learning (ITL) is a licensed Vocational School in the State of Washington. It is also known as the American Institute for Transpersonal Hypnotherapy/NLP©. Financial aid for training may be available for students eligible for state vocational and/or unemployment funds in any state. Certification with ITL is reciprocally recognized by many hypnosis organizations including the National Guild of Hypnotists, the largest such association in North America.
The Institute offers a wide range of courses and study options, both on-site and distance learning, that are more fully described in our Free Course Catalog. "I've been loving my work as a hypnotherapist... when I took your Summer Intensive, I wasn't sure if I'd apply it in a professional practice, but I opened my office in '03 and with just a yellow page listing the clients keep coming! It's been a fun, interesting, challenging journey.
I recently received a call from an older gentleman, a retired hypnotherapist. He was preparing for a double knee surgery and wanted to minimize blood flow at the points of incision during surgery. He also wanted to prepare his body to accept the anesthesia (he has allergies) and to minimize swelling and control pain while resisting infection during his recovery. I told him that I wasn't experienced in pre-surgery hypnosis, that I'd never done that before. I felt a little intimidated... here he was, an older, experienced hypnotherapist and professor, coming to me, a newbie, for something so "serious." But he decided he wanted to work with me anyways.
His doctor and nurses kind of rolled their eyes when he told them he was preparing with hypnosis but they were totally amazed by his results! He used 85% less blood than the average patient during his surgery and he used about 1/2 the pain medication during his recovery. He's healing faster and easier than most patients and doing much better than expected, and his doctors and nurses are "believers" now. They want me to give talks at the hospital and they're thinking about opening a hypnosis unit there. They said, "We should be doing this for every patient." And the new patient referrals have already started coming in. He was such a delight, and I learned so much through the experience.
